Suwa Shrine, Guardian of Yanaka
Suwa Shrine Goshinkosai (Main Festival)
Sat, Aug 29 & Sun, Aug 30, 2026
Thank You
This year’s Suwa Shrine Goshinkosai (Main Festival) concluded all of its events on August 31. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who came.
We are also deeply grateful to the members of the neighborhood association and the mikoshi clubs (doukoukai) who supported the festival.
The next main festival (honsai) will be held in three years, in 2029. The dates are not yet decided and will be announced on this site and on the neighborhood notice boards as soon as they are set.
Children’s mikoshi (portable shrines), festival floats, the adults’ mikoshi, food and game stalls — a day when the Hatsune neighborhood comes alive. Meeting points, times and stall menus are all here.
